check out the latest edition of Southern Living Weddings - page 56 starts the feature on nick & tori's Keswick Hall wedding on June 25, 2011. with a bohemian, anthropologie-inspired feel, the colors came alive in all aspects of their wedding. coordinated by Easton Events, flowers by Pat's Floral Designs, photography by Holland Photo Arts, rock paper scissors was thrilled to design the majority of the paper goods (minus the invitations), an extension of the papers for the BHLDN photo shoot for the Knot.
congrats Tori & Nick!

uva couple cathy & brandon were married on lucky 9.10.11! navy save the dates with a nod to the university set the stage and tone for a rich celebration to follow...
rock paper scissors developed a custom logo that would be carried through the rest of the printed materials. elegant but rustic; whimsical with a southern flair of sophistication; predominantly blue with hints of silver and pops of red... which would be reiterated in the flowers & glowing candlelight tablescape. this event was coordinated by Jennifer Hamlin of Events with Panache. Calligraphy by Heather Belle Rolfe of Heather Belle Ink; it was held at the Boar's Head Inn. Photography by Cramer Photo.
cathy's creativity shown in the details - candlelit place cards with delicate calligraphy on vellum wrapped around the tealight holders; "donut" escort cards around chocolate champagne glasses; a menu that also served as a thank you to their guests. we didn't produce the materials below for the bride & groom, but we love the personality it shows!
congrats again Cathy & Brandon... no uva wedding would be complete without a rotunda shot!
thanks again to Cramer Photo for the excellent pics of their special day!

margaret & chip were married in Lynchburg with a lantern-lit reception at boonsboro country club. with classic, engraved invitations from Arzberger Buening (available at rock paper scissors) and stunning calligraphy by heather belle rolfe of heather belle ink in sage green ink, the feeling was traditional with a twist. coordinated by Easton Events, flowers by Pat's Floral Designs, shot by Holland Photo Arts, all-around it was a five star event!
we loved all the sage green details, from ribbon, to mason jars, to table cloths, custom-printed napkins with the iconic lantern and the couple's wedding date... congrats again to Margaret & Chip!
and thanks again to Holland Photo Arts for the great images!

we're branching away from the first 3 holiday winners with a special selection for an all-around awesome holiday card... it gets gold stars for being a classic photo with a classic message: the cute couple (with professor in sweater vest and all!), a bike; adorable dogs; in the fall leaves; saying "Merry Everything"... one of our fave photographers, sarah cramer shields, was shot by another one of our fave photogs, Lucy O photo! then our very own dani antol crafted a simple, classic card design. we suppose it could also win the category of most use of local vendors!
printed by our friends at Tag & Company using a giclee art print process.
merry everything to everybody!

in what some might consider a gutsy move, willow tree apps went out on a limb with their holiday card this year:
letterpressed on sumptuous, 110# crane's lettra cotton stock with a willow-like tree made from apps, with hanging droids and tablets and smart phone ornaments, we applaud their greeting: "appy holidays" - thank goodness letterpress machines don't auto-correct!
hav a gr8 xms evry1!

continuing our thought from yesterday that this year's holiday card wording was more playful than years past, we're bringing you our top 3, in no particular order. see below for #2:
if you can't read the fine print, it says, "From our den to yours, wishing you a roaring holiday season!" also printed by our friends at tag and company, this one combines our favorite furry friend with fun wording - we'd be lion if we said we didn't love it!
