After three full days on the road, Pa Brown and I finally made it to Minnesota. So far the Midwest had not failed to provide all the cold, snow, and folksy love that I have come to expect. The above picture illustrates all that needs to be said about the weather. No photoshop tricks here, that snow bank is a full two feet taller than me.
However, what I can't illustrate in photos is just how midwest, the Midwest really is: like how this evening's news featured and entire segment about coupon clipping. That's right, coupon clipping.
While I am enjoying being with my family and seeing old friends, it is hard not to miss the place that I have called home for the last six years. More than the reasonable weather, I miss all the people back in Charlottesville and particularly getting to see all the fantastic and funny women at Rock Paper Scissors every day. Love you guys!
Just so I don't have to end on a sappy not, I will leave you with this fantastic image from the road. I don't know how there are not more stores like it all over the country!
Cheers!
