*let's face it, it was just an excuse to throw a party! But in all seriousness, we were celebrating our 6 month anniversary under new ownership and in our new location on the downtown mall. the two-day event featured 15% off all sales along with a free gift with purchase. didn't make it? swing by... we still have a few left. we've upped the ante on how much you have to spend in order to get one, but it just may be worth it -- they're so cute! and they play off of our current, "let the letters fall" / typewriter window display.
Customers delighted over gift wrap and pantone mugs, Oprah-approved ipad cases and more!
friday evening we hosted a private reception to truly thank our family, friends, and favorite customers for getting us through the beginning growing pains! cappellino's cupcakes adorned with random letters (dotty was inpsired by our current front window) were a big hit. susan of susan kalergis photography captured the evening.
just to reiterate -- we are so thankful to all of the people who have made this possible. you know who you are. we love you. we thank you. we owe you. and like the old tom foolery card says, "how can we ever repay you?*" with the answer to the asterisk being, "excluding any money or labor of any kind."
saturday began anew, with brief intro to bookbinding workshops led by local artist, Lindsey Mears and caught on film by andrea hubbell. eager customers were taught the basic pamphlet stitch. beautiful cover paper was supplied by our friends at waste not paper. the green and yellow lilypad print was the clear favorite. waxed linens, bone folders and other tools provided by Lindsey. and how rewarding it felt to punch the necessary holes! this was a soothing project we hope to do again in the future!
spontaneous rock paper scissors tournaments were played over the span of the event. the clear winner? paper.
